Who am I for?

I’m for mums-to-be and young families who embrace the beauty of life’s imperfect, authentic moments.

I have a background in fashion and design, so my eye is trained to find those moments that are not only true to you and your family, but artful and timeless enough that you’ll want to hang them in your home for years to come.

If you're someone who’s comfortable going with the flow and finding joy in the simple things, I’m here to capture those memories for you.

No stiff poses, no pressure, just real, timeless moments that tell your story as it is.

FAQs

  • Long answer short, no.

If you’re new to film, it can seem a lot more daunting then it really is. I won’t get into the nitty gritty but what it means for our session is no rushing. We slow things down, take our time, which allows you to really relax into the session. Unlike digital, we don’t have an unlimited amount of shots to take, but that is why I love it. It makes me really intentional about every shot, and I believe its what allows me to really capture the authentic you.

  • During our session, depending on which you book, I will shoot 1 or more rolls of film. Each roll has 36 images, to be on the safe side, I always estimate at least 30 of those will turn out, without blinking or blurs, etc. I tend to share them all no matter what, sometimes those blurry images end up the most loved.

After the session wraps up, I will drop off the film within the week to a trusted film developer, who brings these images from the roll of film, to a digital form. This usually takes a week or two.

Once I have received the developed photos I review them all, tweak them very minimally, often just adjusting the colour, and then email you a link to a folder where you can download them onto your computer or phone. Ta-da!

  • No worries, I always include a buffer around our schedule. With babies and little ones sometimes the session is longer than we expect, maybe they are crying at the beginning, we can work around it. We control what we can, and go with the flow after that.

I have had sessions in the past with toddlers that we expect to be unruly, end up shooting quick in 30 minutes, and othertimes a baby needs to be fed mid shoot so we go over 30 mins… no stress. As long as it is reasonable, we can make it work.

  • Life happens. If we have an outdoor session planned and it rains, I always offer an in-home option as backup, and if that isn’t ideal we can find another day that works to reschedule. These are images that I want you to save and look back to for years to come, so I understand if your vision is outdoors and you don’t want to change that. I’m called Sunlit Stories for a reason, I also love natural light, and vote outdoors every time. Just message me if you have any concerns, I’m always happy to chat.
